With Thanksgiving behind us, we thought we would share more photos from Martin City’s Christmas Lighting Ceremony.
Christmas Begins early in Martin City
At 6 pm Thursday, November 19, Santa rang his brass bell. Lights were lit, runners ran, kids lined up and shoppers continued on their “Wine Crawl”. Sometimes people broke out in dance while dj Deondre Ross cranked up the holiday music. After the children had gone home for the night Santa visited the businesses that still had tasty treats. The holiday spirit was strong that night in front of the Bailey Brothers Bank & Loan building (a tribute to the Christmas classic “It’s a Wonderful Life”). The Martin City Business and Community Association hopes it continues throughout your holiday season.
Fourth on Luke Fitzsimmons’ wish list was a lifetime supply of RC’s biscuits and gravy.
Kylie Fitzsimmons poses for a photo with Santa.
Molly Vincent and Kevin Goglia wait for the Ugly Sweater Groupie Run.
Winners of the Ugly Christmas Sweater contest were runners Scott Bauer and Kalletta Caldwell.

And they’re off!
Samples of carrot cake were waiting for the Wine Crawlers at Rooms that Bloom.
In exchange for $20, volunteers gave Wine Crawlers a small glass, a bag full of goodies, treats at participating shops, and a punch card. The check in table was in front of Sidelines Florist.
At Martin City Pizza + Taps, Mike Smith and Dauphine Sowell sample beer on the crawl. For youth like Adam Vescovi, there was apple cider at various stops.
Chris Gaughan takes a break from the Wine Crawl with a bottle of beer at Rosehill Gardens.
Susan Rodriguez and Jennifer Miller dance to the holiday music.
Deejay Deondre Ross spun the music.
By 6:20 most of Santa’s work was done. Volunteers pose with the jolly elf at the Bailey Brothers Bank & Loan Building, a property tribute to the movie “It’s a Wonderful Life.”
