FIELD OF DREAMS: GRANDVIEW OFFICIALLY SCORES GATEWAY VILLAGE PROJECT
During Grandview’s Board of Aldermen session June 14, the Board voted 5-0 to approve the TIF package for the new Gateway Village Sports Complex. The approval is the final step in transforming a South Grandview field into a $234 million dollar combination of soccer fields, hotels and retail space. Dubbed as Missouri’s largest amateur sports complex, Gateway Village will be built along HWY 150 between Byars and Kelley Roads.
Mayor Leonard Jones applauds the Board for its unanimous vote and progress the City is making, “This project is a one-stop shop for families. People will be playing and staying in Grandview. This is a great thing for this City and we are truly living up to our new motto: Building Tomorrow’s Community.”
A groundbreaking ceremony is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, June 30 at 10 a.m. Details are forthcoming.
