Case Dorman of Jack Stack Barbecue and Nathan Ferman of Perfection Floor Tile, both in the Martin City area, were named winners of the Central Midwest Entrepreneur of the Year Award at a black-tie event last night at the Arvest Bank Theater at the Midland.
Of the 21 finalists from the Kansas and Missouri region, seven were given the honor of Entrepreneur of the Year. Three were Kansas City businessmen: Dorman, Ferman and Kelly Mann of Mediware Information Systems in Lenexa, KS.

Case Dorman, CEO of Jack Stack Barbecue, started off as a young employee 30 years ago at the Martin City restaurant. He eventually became partners with owner and father-in-law Jack Fiorelli, growing the Martin City restaurant into five area restaurants, the city’s largest catering company and providing nation-wide shipping. In 2012, Dorman moved the corporate headquarters away from Martin City to Overland Park, KS. The company has reported $6 million in revenue.

Nathan Ferman is President of Perfection Floor Tile, an interlocking floor distribution and manufacturing center off of 150 Hwy and Botts Rd. Made from recycled medical grade polyvinyl, the Flexi-Tile Interlocking Tiles are sold globally. In 2012, Perfection Floor Tile’s consolidated net sales from continuing operations totaled approximately $3.7 million. The company makes a point of manufacturing in the United States and hiring U.S. citizens.
The business leaders were selected by a panel of independent judges. Award winners in several national categories, as well as the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Overall National Award winner, will be announced at the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year National Awards gala in Palm Springs, California, on November 19, 2016.
