Recycling Center at Bannister Moves South
By John Sharp
A new city recycling center operated by Bridging the Gap has opened at the KCATA park and ride lot at 5200 East Red Bridge Road on the northwest quadrant of I-49 and Red Bridge to replace the closed center that was on the north side of Bannister Road east of I-435.
The center is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. It will accept all recyclable material eligible for curbside pickup such as aluminum and other metal cans, books, cardboard, catalogs, clean milk/juice cartons and foil pans, junk mail, magazines, newspapers, office paper, and plastic bottles and containers.
The center also will accept glass bottles and jars as well as toner and ink jet cartridges, but will no longer accept Styrofoam.
