City officials come to south KC to listen to problems
By John Sharp
The South Kansas City Alliance’s annual problem solving event will be from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, August 26, at Evangel Church, 1414 E. 103rd St.
The free event allows residents and business owners with problems or concerns about city, county or state government services to discuss them face-to-face with officials with decision-making authority.
City council members and state legislators are expected to attend, and all major city offices and departments will be represented.
Representatives also will attend from the Missouri Department of Health & Human Services and the Department of Transportation, Jackson County COMBAT (the county’s program to reduce drug abuse and violence) and the Mid-Continent Public Library.
Persons may drop by anytime and do not need reservations. They are encouraged to bring written descriptions and/or pictures showing the problem if they think that would be helpful.
Costco Wholesale will provide bagels, cookies, coffee and water for attendees at no charge.
Evangel Church is on the north side of I-435 east of Holmes Rd.
