CID Executive Director Resigns

By Kathy Feist

Marla Duck, Martin City’s executive director for its Community Improvement District, resigned from her post October 19 after approximately six months in the position. She cited her son’s health issues as reason for her immediate absence. Her son was recovering from a recent car accident only months after battling a serious illness.

“I think only the best of Martin City and the people I have had the privilege of working with,” she said. “I wish everyone all the best for the future and  foresee continued progress!”

CID Board Chair Debbie VanNoy says she regrets Duck’s departure but she and the rest of the board wish her and her son the best. Already, the board has chosen a new CID executive director to take Duck’s place. (Find out who in the next issue.)

Duck leaves after she assembled a new Martin City Business Owners Association board, which is in charge of the upcoming Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on November 16. “I’m very happy with the outcome,” she said.
