Dancing in the Street at Grandview

This year dancing in the streets may include a little dancing in the rain. But rain or shine, the Grandview Chamber celebrates 15 years of dancing in the street in downtown Grandview.

The public is invited to join Music on Main, the free, family friendly, outdoor music event on Saturday, September 8th, starting at 4 p.m.

Music on Main will feature live music from country band Queens of Country (4-5:15 pm), Journey tribute band Revelation (5:30-6:45 pm), AC/DC tribute band Hells Bells (7-8:15 pm) and R&B artists JJ Johnson Band (8:30-10 pm). Gates will open at 3 p.m.

JJ Johnson Band will have a familiarity to past Music on Main attendees. JJ has performed with Platinum Express at Music on Main many times. Born and raised in Missouri, JJ began singing at a young age and knew that he wanted to be an entertainer. Upon moving from the St. Louis area to Kansas City, JJ began singing with Koolaid and the Exact Change Band. In JJ’s many years as a performer he has opened for many well-known names such as The Whispers and The Chi-Lites, as well as making guest appearances with the Temps and the Tops in Branson.

This year’s event will include a Kidz Zone. Different food and beverage concessions will be available for sale at the event. Those attending are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs. No outside coolers, outside beverages or pets will be allowed within the perimeters of the concert.
