Everything Up to Date in Martin City

There is a lot of news coming out of Martin City. Anticipated projects in Martin City are nearing completion or have become completed. Below is a look at the exciting progress in town.

On August 24, both lanes on 135th Street near Suburban Lawn and Garden opened to traffic. The entire project is expected to be completed by year’s end. Designs for the Holmes Rd. expansion past Blue Ridge Blvd. are expected this fall.

Rosehill Garden’s outdoor event space, 311 E 135 St., opened for business on August 27. The space which features a pond, waterfall, fire pit, stepping stones and breathtaking landscaping is perfect for outdoor weddings. (816) 941-4777

The city’s largest ReStore will be located in Martin City at 13531 Wyandotte, opening September 29. 

 

Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore, 13531 Wyandotte St., will have its grand opening September 29 to October 6. Deliveries are being accepted now. (816) 231-6889

The glass exterior of FishTech’s Cyber Defense Center , 13333 Holmes Rd.,  completed this month. A move-in date is set for January.

Renovations on the parking lot between Jack Stack Barbecue ,  13341 Holmes Rd. and Margaritas,13401 Holmes Rd., began August 28. The parking lot will be completely repaved with new asphalt, striping, curbs, landscaping and additional entrances and exits for added convenience. Only half of the parking lot will be under construction at any one time, so there should always be parking for customers.

Martin City Coffee will have a ribbon cutting ceremony on October 12. 

Martin City Coffee , 13115 Holmes Rd., has announced it plans to open the beginning of October. A ribbon cutting is set for October 12. 

O’Reilly Auto Parts has confirmed it plans to be open on November 1st.

Stick Sisters moves into its cottage house October 4. 

Stick Sisters Gifts, Decor & Design 13442 Cherry St., is renovating the carriage house behind Rooms that Bloom and plans to have an open house October 4-6. 

Martin City Animal Hospital, 13441 Cherry St.is seeking permits to expand.

RC’s , 330 E. 135 St., is open on Mondays once again, but has decided to only serve breakfasts on the weekend.

Lukas Liquors Superstore, 13657 Washington, has hired a professional chef for Harry’s Tavern,  the sports bar located inside the liquor store.

Spirit – A Halloween Store, 13617 Washingtonhas opened in the former Gordmans space.

Tropical Sno , 200 E 135 St., has closed for the season.

A little off the path from Martin City is Bogey’s Windy City, 13366 State Line Rd. on the Leawood side. Owner Gary Withers says opening day is September 25. 

Bogey’s Windy City will open at its new location, 13366 State Line Rd., Sunday, September 23 for the Chiefs game. It’s official opening will be Tuesday, September 25.
