
Mobile Food Pantry Comes to Martin City
Harvesters, the community food network, is bringing its mobile food pantry (a semi-truck filled with fresh produce) to Martin City Baptist Church, 520 E. 132nd Terr., on Saturday, October 20, and to Ruskin High School on Thursday, October 25.
There is no charge for the food which is available for all who are in need.
The Martin City Baptist visit is sponsored by Three Trails Community church. Vehicles may begin lining up to pick up food at 11 a.m., and the distribution will be from noon to 2 p.m. Any food not distributed will be donated to the Grandview Assistance Program. The next monthly visits will be Saturdays, November 17 and December 15.
The Ruskin High School visit is sponsored by the school in cooperation with the Community Assistance Council. Vehicles may begin lining up to pick up food at 4 p.m. on Ruskin Way on the east side of the school. The food distribution will continue to 5:30. The next monthly visits will be on Thursdays, November 15 and December 20.
