Holiday Market at St. Thomas More
By Marie Titcomb
On Friday and Saturday, Oct. 26-27, St. Thomas More School will host its largest holiday market yet at 11800 Holmes Rd. Proceeds will support teachers and staff.
The parish has had similar events throughout the years, but this year stands apart, says Mindy Clarke, who is overseeing the details. There are 63 vendors lined up, including diverse businesses such as Mary Kay Cosmetics, Stella & Dot, Origami Owl, Cedar Street Toffee, All Star Dips and even a local chiropractor.
“We have worked hard at securing quality vendors with unique gift-worthy items,” says Clarke, who recruited participants with the help of Kristen Graham, president of Home & School, the parent-teacher organization. “There will be different multi-level marketing companies and a few area businesses along with food gift vendors and small boutiques.” She says some vendors will be selling items that can be personalized for gifts.
“We have a lovely group of dedicated teachers and staff at the school, and we really want to honor what they do. They mean so much to the kids and the parents of the community, and we want to show them how much they mean to us!” says Clarke, fundraising chair of Home & School.
In addition to vendors, there will be special attractions each day. On Friday there will be a VIP social from 6-9 p.m. with drinks, food and desserts provided by caterers such as Union Horse Distillery, County Line Beverage, Southside Bar & Grill and Plaza Catering. Tickets for the event are $20 per person and include drinks, food, a door prize and two raffle tickets.
On Saturday tickets cost $10 per person and raffle tickets will be available at one for $5, five for $10, or 15 for $60. Events on that day include an 8th grade class-run bake sale with coffee from Martin City Coffee available. “There will also be other fun surprises,” teases Clarke.
Tickets are being presold at one.bidpal.net/stmholidaymart.
