
SKCA holds Economic Development Summit

Registration is now open for the 5th annual South Kansas City Alliance (SKCA) Economic Development Summit from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, December 1, at Avila University.
The free event will feature breaking news about major economic development projects in south Kansas City such as Cerner’s Innovations Campus, the Red Bridge Shopping Center revitalization and the planned replacement of the former Bannister Federal Complex with a major industrial park.
Attendees also will hear from successful new smaller businesses in south Kansas City, and there will be breakout sessions to help new and potential small business owners on low cost marketing and the use of social media, on doing business with governmental agencies and large corporations, and on networking.
There will be a breakout session on building stronger neighborhoods for neighborhood leaders and activists.
The event will include a complimentary continental breakfast and lunch.
