Intersection remains closed off to traffic most of Wednesday
At 3 pm Tuesday a large semi-truck heading north on Holmes Rd. snagged a power line that crossed the road at around 110th St. The truck continued driving and consequently snapped the power line and a pole. That action closed off traffic to the area while crews from KCP&L fixed the problem.
The area, which stretches from Red Bridge to 110th St. on Holmes, remains closed on Wednesday while utility companies from Spectrum, Google and Consolidated fix their lines. One Spectrum employee at the scene expected the area to remained blocked up until 4 pm.

A detour has been set up at 109th St. and Holmes that leads to a south exit down Oak St. and vice versa.
Residents in the area east of Holmes were affected with a two-hour power outage on the heels of several power outages due to a winter storm.
The driver of the semi-truck has not been found. The power line presumably hung lower due to the weight of the snow.
