Hot Tea Month Celebration
To celebrate Hot Tea Month, Gilded Lily will host an afternoon tea at its store, 612 E. 135th St., at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27. Savory and sweet bite-sized pastries will be served with teas from Harney & Sons and Thes de la Pagode as well as champagne or sherry. The cost is $35. RSVP via Gildedlilykc.com.

In February, Gilded Lily’s Literary Society is featuring “Northanger Abbey” by Jane Austen for its upcoming book discussion on Tuesday, February 12th at 6:30 p.m. The selection celebrates the novel’s 200th-year publication anniversary. Considered a satire of Gothic novels, the book follows the story of 17-year-old Catherine Morland and her time at the Abbey.
The Literary Society has no membership fee, but requests an RSVP by sending an email to Gilded Lily at mygildedlily@hotmail.com. Drinks and appetizers will also be provided.
