Women from all over Kansas City are invited to join together to enrich their lives, move beyond their walls and to discover how they can catapult themselves from ordinary to extraordinary at the “Overcome Your Giant: Face It” conference on Saturday, March 23.

“We created this event because we wanted to help women discover their potential,” said Marilyn Chappell, founder of Exceeds Expectations Inc. “Our visions can be so small, but we need to be willing to push ourselves into a space outside of our comfort zone. We want to enable women to lift that veil over their face and discover their purpose.”

The event will feature four inspirational women speakers from different backgrounds and careers. Topics include: No More Barriers, Beauty from Ashes, More Than Ordinary, and Beyond the Walls.

Tasha Gatson, the CEO of Fierce Hair, Mind, & Body

“I agreed to share my story because being a business owner myself, I’ve had so many giants to overcome and there just wasn’t anyone that was transparent enough to talk about those ugly things,” said Tasha Gatson, event speaker on Beyond the Walls. “I love watching the transformation of the women attending. They literally leave inspired.”

There also will be an panel of women entrepreneurs for a question and answer session.

“These are real women, just like me, who believe in themselves,” said Nasonya Roswell, attendee at an earlier conference. “[After hearing their stories], my giants weren’t giants anymore….these women made things practical.”

The event is the second one organized by Exceeds Expectations. The first conference, held in December 2018, was such a success that it will now become quarterly.

The conference is 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at Venue 508 in the Red Bridge Shopping Center, 508 E. 112th St. Tickets are $40 and include lunch. See eventbrite.com/e/overcome-your-giant-face-it-tickets-54389339980.

In addition to the program, attendees will have a chance to shop with other local women businesses and support them. There are still a few vendor tables still available; contact Toriana Saddler at blueesscentscandleco@gmail.com.
