Harry’s Hay Days takes on Star Wars theme
Grandview will celebrate President Truman’s birthday and legacy with its annual Harry’s Hay Days festival and parade on Friday, May 3rd and Saturday, May 4th. This year it takes on a Star Wars theme, “May the 4th Be With You.”

President Harry S. Truman spent a great deal of his childhood at the Truman Farm Home in Grandview. The home is still standing and is now a National Park Service site. The historic home will be open for tours on Saturday, May 4th, from 10 a.m. to noon and again from 1 to 3 pm. The home is located at 12301 Blue Ridge Blvd.
Harry’s Hay Days kicks off on Friday night with a free concert at the Grandview Amphitheater, 13501 Byars Rd, at 7 p.m. with a performance by Love & Madness. The band performs popular music ranging from Michael Jackson to Bruno Mars. Food trucks will be set up. Bring a lawn chair.
On Saturday, the parade starts at 10 a.m. starting at Grandview Rd. and Main St. Mark Alford of Fox4 News will emcee the parade.

The festival continues in the area with music, arts & craft vendors, games, food trucks, live entertainment acts, bounce houses and more. Some of the food trucks planned so far include Minsky’s, Daddy O’s Diner, and Kona Ice of Jackson County. Street acts include Diskey the Wonder Dog and Jason D’Vaude the One Man Circus.
Harry’s Hay Days is truly a community event. Grandview churches, the City of Grandview, the Grandview Chamber of Commerce, Grandview C-4 School District, Grandview Main Street, Grandview Assistance Program and Grandview Historical Society all work together to make this family-friendly fun happen.
