The Grandview Boys’ Varsity Basketball team became State Champions for a second year in a row at the Missouri High School Class 4 State Championships game in March. The team beat out St. Mary’s High School out of St. Louis in a close game with a final score of 64-69.

Burks has been supportive of the team in past years and has been instrumental in providing uniforms, shoes, bags and warm ups for the team. He also provided the players with their first championship ring last year. This week he will be hosting the annual Alec Burks Basketball Academy Camp for grades 1-9 at Grandview High School, Friday June 28 from 9am-4pm. Admission is free but online registration at eventbrite.com is encouraged.

Burks graduated from Grandview High School in 2009 and is currently a guard for the Sacramento Kings. He’s previously played for the Cleveland Cavaliers and Utah Jazz.
