An additional section of Blue River Rd. from Hickman Mills Dr. just west of U.S. 71 Highway to the road’s intersection with Grandview Rd. and Prospect Ave. has been barricaded and closed to all traffic due to the worsening condition of the road’s subsurface.
The closure reduces access to the southern portion of the Dodson Industrial Area including major employers such as Labconco Corporation.

Blue River Rd. has been closed for years from Cleveland Ave. south of I-435 to south of the 3&2 Baseball Stadium which is on the southside of Bannister Rd. due to portions of the road’s subsurface sliding down toward the Blue River.
The city has started the process of designing reconstruction of the road and is awaiting funding from the U.S. Corps of Engineers for its portion of designing stabilization of the river bank.

Funding from the Corps of Engineers? How does this fit in with a veto-proof Senate and President? Blue River Road was part of the old Blue River Scenic Parkway… Maybe it can at least be open to hikers and bikers [bicyclists / tricyclists only], if only until real planning can be started on January 21st, 2021!!
