The Madison to begin leasing apartments
By Kathy Feist
The Madison Senior Living community is still in the process of being built at the corner of Madison and 150 Hwy (south of the Mercedes dealership). Nevertheless, apartments will be up for lease starting October 1, according to Tim Moore, Regional Director for Arrow Senior Living Management which will oversee the retirement community.
The Madison sits on 10 acres and will hold 90 independent living apartments, 44 assisted living apartments and 16 memory care rooms. Amenities include up to three daily meals from restaurant style dining, 7am to 7pm, plus snacks from a 24-hour kitchen, a salon, therapeutic pool, fitness center, outdoor courtyard and a commons area with a movie room, parlor and library. An activities director will conduct events and outings.
“We like to say ‘Our communities are like a cruise ship that never leaves the dock,’” says Moore.
Of course, if you are tired of the dock, the convenience of 150 Hwy provides an easy getaway. “The location is ideally situated for those who drive,” said Moore. “And makes it convenient for friends and family to visit.”
The independent living units will be housed in a three-story lodge-style building. Each unit has a fully equipped kitchen and washer and dryer. Floor plans range from studios to one- or two-bedroom apartments.
The assisted living units will offer private apartments for seniors requiring hands on personal care.
The memory care rooms are located in a separate one-level building. Rooms include height-appropriate fixtures and locking cabinets. The common areas will feature an open design including dining and living rooms. Life stations designed to trigger memories of tasks such as nursery care and nurturing, wardrobe and work stations provide a sense of purpose and accomplishment. The memory care portion will have complete licensed care for Alzheimer and dementia residents.
The independent living apartments will come available first, starting July 2020. Prices start at $2300 a month. Assisted living units should be available in August and memory care in September, according to Moore.
Starting in October, an office will be set up in a trailer at The Madison for prospective residents. Signing a lease agreement now will not only include a discount incentive but the opportunity to choose a specific apartment.
The Madison is part of O’Reilly Development which has several senior living communities throughout Missouri.
