Clean Up Event
Residents of the 6th City Council District in KCMO may dispose of bulky items, leaves and brush and waste tires for free at two drop off locations in south Kansas City from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, October 26.
Persons may bring leaves in plastic bags as long as they empty them and take the bags with them. Brush does need to be cut up so it is no longer than about four feet in length, but it does not have to be bundled. Tires that are still on the rims will be accepted.
The drop off locations are in the east parking lot of Ruskin High School, 7000 E. 111th St., and in the south parking lot of South-Broadland Presbyterian Church, 7850 Holmes Rd.
Persons also may drop off electronics and air conditioning units containing Freon at the Church but there are cash only fees for such items. The fees are $5 for CRT monitors, $10 for units containing Freon, $20 for LED/LCD/plasma TVs, $30 for CRT 26-inch or less TVs, and $50 for CRT 27-inch or more TVs, wood console TVs and big screen projection TVs.
The clean up is being coordinated by the City Neighborhoods & Housing Services Department and is being sponsored by the Community Assistance Council and the South Kansas City Alliance.
Persons may contact Robert Woods, special projects coordinator for the Department, at 816-513-8442 or robert.woods@kcmo.org for more information.

Do you accept paint?
I don’t think they do, Maggie. But you can bring it and I’m sure they can tell you who does.
