Welcome to the neighborhood, Wonderscope!
The Regnier Family Wonderscope Children’s Museum of Kansas City will open Friday, October 23, following an 8:30 a.m. ribbon cutting. Tickets are sold out for the event, but can be purchased for Saturday or regular visits here. Betty Rae’s Ice Cream food truck will be parked at the property from noon to 5 pm.
The newly constructed facility at 433 E. Red Bridge Rd. at the Red Bridge Shopping Center features numerous interactive exhibits designed to help children learn while playing and having fun.
Beginning Saturday, October 24, the museum will be open Tuesday through Sunday for a 9 to noon session and a 1 to 4 session with the same limits on the number of visitors. Admission is free for children under two, $12 for children 2-15 and $9 for persons 16 and over, and discounts are available. Family memberships start as low as $80.
A number of safety measures have been implemented due to the pandemic. Persons not feeling well are asked not to visit the museum, and any visitor exhibiting signs of illness will be asked to leave. All visitors three and over must wear masks, shields or other protective face coverings, and visitors must practice social distancing from other families.
