Leaf & Brush Pick-Up

Curbside leaf and brush pick-up in KCMO south of 63rd St. and east of Blue Ridge Cutoff will be from Monday, November 16, through Friday, November 20.

Up to 20 paper yard waste sacks and/or bundles of branches that weigh no more than 40 pounds each must be placed at the curb by 7 a.m. on residents’ regularly scheduled trash day.

If sacks are sealed it must be only with masking tape, not plastic or duct tape.  Bundles of branches must be no more than two feet in diameter and no more than four feet long, tied with rope or twine, not with wire or plastic or duct tape.  Branches must be no more than three inches in diameter.

Residents must report missed collections on their trash days to 311 within 24 hours.

South Kansas City residents with valid IDs showing their city residency may also take their leaves, yard waste and brush including tree trimmings to the city’s drop-off site at 10301 Raytown Rd. for free on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. until it closes for the winter in January.

Leaves do not have to be sacked and branches and brush do not have to be bundled, but tree stumps are prohibited.  If paper yard waste sacks are used they should only be sealed with masking tape, and plastic bags should be emptied and taken home by the residents.
