Chief of Police to participate in south KC town hall meeting

Several  neighborhood organizations are hosting a police town hall meeting on Wednesday, August 18, featuring KCMO Police Chief Rick Smith, South patrol Commander Major Darren Ivey and Metro Patrol Commander Major Paul Luster.  The meeting will be held virtually at 6 pm. and in person to a limited number of 25 participants (due to Covid) at South Patrol, 9701 Marion Park Dr.
Issues expected to be addressed include:
  • Lack of police officers in south Kansas City
  • Rising crime in south Kansas City
  • Burnouts, sideshows and drag races throughout Kansas City
  • Vandalism on commercial property
