The Kansas City Police Department and the KC Crime Stoppers TIPS Hotline are seeking the public’s help in identifying whoever is responsible for the shooting death just after midnight February 17 of 31-year-old Johnny Sanders in the 11300 block of Sycamore Ter.

Sanders was found shot in the driver’s seat of a black Chevrolet Tahoe, and emergency medical personnel declared him deceased as a result of his injuries.

Anyone with information about his slaying is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477.  

The identity of anyone providing information is kept anonymous.  Persons providing information that leads to an arrest and/or filing charges are eligible to receive a reward of up to $25,000, which also is available for any homicides in KCMO.

Through August 16 there have been 14 homicides this year in the South Patrol Division, compared to 16 at the same time last year when the city set a new annual record for homicides.  By that time of the year there only had been 3 homicides in South Patrol in 2019, 11 in 2018 and 8 in 2017.
