Free live musical entertainment followed by a fireworks show will be featured Saturday, August 28, at the Grandview Amphitheater, 13501 Byars Rd., during Bands on Byars, the signature community event of the Grandview Chamber of Commerce, formerly called Music on Main before the location change.
Gates to the family-friendly event will open at 3 p.m., and music by three bands will run from 3:30 to 9:45, followed by fireworks, a first for the event.
Liverpool, a Beatles tribute band, will perform from 3:30 to 5:15, followed by 2nd House which will play a variety of country, pop and rock tunes from 5:30 to 7:30. The J.J. Johnson Band will close out the evening’s musical entertainment with dance music from 7:45 to 9:45. Johnson is an iconic KC singer who sang on the road with many great bands like the Temptations and James Brown.

Refreshments may be purchased at the event from food and drink vendors, and games and other children’s activities also will be available.
Persons should bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating, but attendees will not be allowed to bring their own beverages, coolers or pets.
This is the first year the event will be at the Amphitheater, and Chamber officials expect over 1,000 persons to attend. The last Music on Main event was in 2019, and there was no event last year due to the pandemic.
North American Savings Bank is the event’s title sponsor. It is co-sponsored by the Chamber and the city of Grandview. Persons may call the Chamber at 816-761-6505 for more information.
