The South Kansas City Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony August 6 for the grand opening of Concorde Career College on the campus of St. Joseph Medical Center complex just off I-435 and State Line Rd. The 50,000-square-foot campus is the second, and largest, Concorde location in Kansas City. The new campus location incorporates healthcare classrooms, labs, and clinics, and will become the college’s main campus location with their satellite campus located on the corner of Linwood and Broadway downtown.

Kansas City Campus President Katherin Packard welcomed the crowd and current students in attendance, followed with words spoken by local community leaders.
“The Kansas City campus will prepare students for successful employment in their diploma or degree of choice through hands-on activities, real world lab experiences, and instructors who have expertise in their area of healthcare studies,” said Packard.
The new campus location will offer various programs in medical fields such as oral health, physical therapy, nursing, respiratory and cardiovascular care – among others. Average tuition costs for administration and assistant programs vary between $250 and $668 per credit with required credit hours ranging from 60 to 120. Total campus tuition costs range from $15,000 to $48, 672 depending on desired program completion.
“Our programs also offer exceptional opportunities for students to participate in activities outside the classroom with local community partners that add value to their training,” Packard continued.

Concorde programs average a 70% graduation rate with 85% of graduates finding employment immediately after graduation.
Individual programs enroll anywhere from 8 to 36 students with dental assistance programs enrolling an average of 94 students and medical assistance programs welcoming an impressive 182 students each cycle.
In addition to their educational programs Concorde offers dental health care services to surrounding communities at little to no cost. Services include dental cleanings, digital x-rays, bite guards, and more. Treatment is provided by students under the supervision of a professional.
