Because We Care
Free personal and household essentials, boys’ haircuts, children’s socks & underwear and COVID-19 vaccinations will be provided Sunday, September 19, by the Hickman Mills Community Empowerment Center and other supporting organizations at the latest Because We Care event.
The first dose of the Pfizer vaccine will be available for persons 12 and up from noon to 4 p.m. at Bethel Family Worship Center, 10801 Ruskin Way. Persons should call 816-404-CARE to schedule an appointment, although walk-ins will be accepted. Children 12 to 17 years old will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian who will have to authorize their vaccination.
The second dose will be available at the same time and location on Sunday, October 10.
Boys’ haircuts and children’s socks and underwear will be provided from 1 to 4 p.m. in the parking lot at Christian Charity Church, 11000 Ruskin Way, and personal and household essentials will be distributed at a drive through event in the parking lot at Ruskin High School, 7000 E. 111th St.
Persons will need to register for these events at Hickmanmillscec.org.
