Area groups that want to help spruce up KCMO parks and boulevards can now apply for Kessler Clean Parks Mini-Grants of up to $500 to help cover their expenses for doing so from the Kansas City Parks Foundation.
Eligible organizations include churches, homes associations, neighborhood groups, schools, scout troops, sports teams and youth groups. Organizations do not have to be recognized as 501(c)(3) nonprofits, but the grants will only be made to organizations, not individuals.
Projects may include litter and debris clean up, landscape maintenance and other activities to improve the appearance and usefulness of specific city parks and segments of boulevards chosen by the groups.
Groups may apply by emailing clean-parks@kcparksfoundation.org. Grants are ongoing, so there is no deadline to apply, but organizations may only receive one mini-grant annually.
The Parks Foundation is a nonprofit organized to preserve and enhance the city’s parks and boulevards and to foster community engagement to support them.
