At 2:30 a.m. on Monday morning, officers of the Kansas City Police Department were dispatched to the scene of a fatal shooting at 11612 Hickman Mills Dr.
Mondrell L. Smallwood, 33, was found shot and unresponsive in the parking lot of the Peppermill Lounge South bar. He was pronounced deceased by EMS at the scene.
KCPD detectives and crime scene personnel were canvassing the area for witnesses and processing the scene early Monday morning.
