Martin City-based cybersecurity company Fishtech has announced its merger with Herjavec Group. The two cybersecurity companies will operate as a single entity under a new brand to be announced later this month. Robert Herjavec, founder and CEO of Herjavec Group and star of ABC’s “Shark Tank,” and Gary Fish, founder and CEO of Fishtech Group, will each maintain significant equity in the new business while the private equity firm Apax Partners will hold a majority stake in the new company.

The deal brings together two cybersecurity giants that will have one of the largest managed security engineering teams under one roof, according to the company.

The merged operation will employ over 600 employees, “with plans to add many more over the next few years here in KC and beyond,” assures Ryan Couch, chief marketing officer for Fishtech Groups. The Martin City offices currently employ 120 individuals.

“Fishtech has always been about creating lasting success for our clients and for our region,” says Couch.” This merger raises that bar even further from a national footprint to an international one.”

The 24/7 Cyber Defense Center in Martin City is Fishtech’s flagship security operations center, with four more in Arkansas, Toronto, London and Bangalore, India.

Herjavec Group has offices and security operations centers across the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and India.

Founded in 2003 and acquired by Apax Funds in February 2021, Herjavec has been recognized as one of the world’s most innovative cybersecurity firms and is currently ranked as the #1 MSSP in the world (Cyber Defense Magazine 2021 Top 100 MSSPs List).

Fishtech was founded in 2016 to bring security to the cloud while identifying vulnerabilities and introducing next-generation solutions to help organizations minimize risk.

Robert Herjavec will serve as CEO of the combined entity. Gary Fish will serve as chairman of the board. The financial terms of the transaction are not disclosed.

“We’re exceptionally proud of our results to date and even more excited about the growth to come,” says Fish. “With complementary offerings from Herjavec, we will transform the security industry globally.”

Herjavec, who says he has known Fish, an industry pioneer, for decades, adds, “We could not be more thrilled to join forces.”
