Ernest Fields, Jr., EdD, an assistant principal at Ruskin High School since July 2020, has been named as its next principal effective July 1 to replace Torrence Allen who is leaving to become the new principal at Belton High School.
Dr. Fields has a wide range of experience, having served as an administrator, curriculum leader, department chair and teacher. He has three master’s degrees including a Master of Educational Leadership from Pittsburg State University and a Doctor of Education degree from the University of Missouri.
He noted his priorities include rigorous instruction, increasing academic achievement and forming relationships with both family and community stakeholders to support the education of Ruskin High School Students.
During his seven years at Ruskin, Allen was noted for the many activities of its staff and students to serve the community and support area charities that he initiated or supported such as hosting a monthly Harvesters mobile food pantry.
