Grandview holds Clean Up Days

Grandview residents may take a wide variety of no longer wanted items to that city’s Parks & Public Works facility, 7000 E. 139th St., for proper disposal from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays, August 27, September 24 and October 29.

Items accepted include appliances, brush & yard waste, carpeting, furniture, mattresses, sinks, scrap metal & building material, small mechanical equipment, tires, toilets, trash, tubs and used oil.

All hazardous and toxic waste will not be accepted including herbicides, household cleaners & other chemicals, paint, pesticides and propane or helium tanks.

There is a charge of $20 for a car, pickup truck or van loaded with items, a $30 charge for a loaded trailer and a $40 charge for a loaded pickup truck with a trailer or for a big truck without a trailer.

There is also a $30 charge for any appliance containing Freon and a $2 charge per tire for a maximum of eight tires per vehicle that will be accepted including tires still on their wheels.

There is no charge for used oil up to five gallons and vehicle batteries.

Persons should bring proof of Grandview residency and cash or checks to pay any fees.
