KCMO residents who want to improve their neighborhoods should consider applying for a free 12-week series of classes and workshops presented on campus by the UMKC Center for Neighborhoods from February 25 through May 20.
The neighborhood leadership training will feature weekly Tuesday classes with a free dinner served at 5 p.m. and classwork beginning at 5:30 p.m. These sessions will focus on leadership & governance, health & safety, planning & development and communications & technology for neighborhood groups.
Three Saturday workshops will generally run from 10 a.m. to noon at a UMKC computer lab and in a nearby neighborhood.
Interested persons may email the center at neighborhoods@umkc.edu to apply or for more information. The deadline to apply is midnight January 31.
