The Grandview Chamber of Commerce hosts Open-Air Job Fair with free resources

 The Grandview Chamber of Commerce will host its Outdoor Job Fair on Wednesday, May 17th at Truman’s Marketplace. The job fair is designed to help connect job seekers with employers from various industries and provide them with valuable resources to enhance their job search.

To help job seekers make their best first impression, organizers are offering free outfits and professional headshots at the job fair. Resource vendors will be available to assist job seekers in selecting appropriate outfits for upcoming interviews, polishing their resumes, and filling out online applications on the spot. Additionally, a professional photographer will be present to take headshots that can be used on resumes or LinkedIn profiles.

Because childcare can be a challenge for job seekers, a Kid Zone will be available at the job fair. The Kid Zone is a supervised area where children can play while parents speak with hiring managers. Grandview Parks & Recreation and the Mid-Continent Public Library will be overseeing the Kid Zone, all in eyesight of parents, giving parents peace of mind that their children are safe and happy while they network with potential employers just a few yards away.

The job fair will also provide one-on-one assistance to job seekers from expert resume writers and career coaches. They will help job seekers prepare for interviews, negotiate salary offers, and write a winning resume.

“We believe that our job fair is a great opportunity for job seekers to connect with potential employers and access valuable resources to help them succeed in their job search,” said Liz Ogle, President of the Grandview Chamber. “We welcome job seekers of all backgrounds and experience levels to attend our job fair and take advantage of the resources we are offering.”

The Open-Air Job Fair is free to attend and will be held Wednesday,  May 17^th, from 3-6 p.m. at Truman’s Marketplace, I-49 and Blue Ridge Blvd.
