Enjoy free food, music, community education, wellness checks by Walmart Health & Wellness and more thanks to support from the Kansas City Police Foundation and Walmart
Members of the community are invited to attend the Ol’ Skool Block Party hosted by the Kansas City Missouri Police Department’s Community Engagement Division at Sycamore Park, located at 10800 Sycamore Terrace, from 12 – 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 10. Filled with free fun, food, music and more, the event will provide an opportunity for families to come together as a community.
Families and friends of all ages can find something fun to enjoy during the neighborhood block party. There will be inflatables, volleyball, cornhole, dominoes, mini golf, human bounce balls, sack races, twister, arts and crafts, in addition to a toddler play area and much more. The event will also feature Walmart’s Health & Wellness Trailer with wellness giveaways and the opportunity for attendees to connect with a local pharmacist, learn more about telehealth options and provide access to free blood glucose, total cholesterol and blood pressure screenings.
“Being present and coming together while having fun is one way we can strengthen our community,” said Tamara McIntosh, Social Services Supervisor with the Kansas City Missouri Police Department. “We are thankful for all of our partner organizations who help make a difference every day in our community and appreciate their commitment to coming out to sharing their talents and offerings during the Ol’ Skool Block Party.”
Community members in attendance will be able to connect with an array of organizations, including but not limited to: Second Chance; Big Brothers and Big Sisters; Catholic Charities; Girl Scouts; Primerica; Community Assistance Council; KC Scholars; Literacy KC; Rosebrooks; Job Corps; Happy Bottoms; KC Mother’s In Charge; Corey’s Network; Metropolitan Community College.
