A highly coveted, gated community in the heart of south Kansas City caught the eye of The Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City during the 2023 Spring Parade of Homes. The home at 11012 Charlotte Street within the Villas of Red Bridge Greens won silver honors in ‘Pick of the Parade’ and received First Place for ‘Distinctive Plan & Design’ – the only home to receive an award in the south Kansas City area.
“We were very excited because typically awards go to homes that are bigger and have more bedrooms,” says Kim Kauth, new homes specialist with Red Bridge Greens Villas. “Not that we didn’t think we were capable of it.”
Built by award-winning home developer Lambie Homes, the 2 bed, 2 bath, open floor concept features hardwood floors, a stone fireplace, and a covered, screened-in patio. The spacious master suite showcases a walk-in closet and master bath with double vanity and tile shower. With an asking price of $416,330, the 1,373 square foot home has since been sold.
“Some people don’t know that the whole Red Bridge area has been revitalized,” says Kauth. “They may not have been to the area for 10 years or so and when they do, they’re pleasantly surprised at our community.”
Located catercorner from the Red Bridge Shopping Center on Holmes Road, the Villas at Red Bridge Greens feature 50 homes, 9 of which are still available for sale.
“We are still the only maintenance provided, new homes community with new construction available for under 500,000 in the area,” says Kauth.
This year the KCHBA hosted teams comprised of 35 industry professionals from across the Midwest who canvassed the Kansas City region April 27 and 28 to evaluate the 340 entries. Awards recognized builders who showcased the finest craftsmanship and most unique designs. A selection of 29 homes won first place awards in ‘Distinctive Plan & Design’ while 18 won second place. In ‘Pick of the Parade’ 39 won a gold honor and 29 walked away with silver. Winners were announced during the Parade of Homes awards celebration and dinner on May 3.
The Parade of Homes has been an annual Kansas City tradition, offering generations of home buyers the largest and most impressive displays of new homes in the Greater Kansas City metropolitan area. Each Parade takes place over two weeks, during which home hours are free and open to the public and showcases hundreds of beautiful brand-new homes.
