Truman’s Marketplace Shopping Center in Grandview is about to get caffeinated. Dutch Bros. Coffee in Grandview is scheduled to join the list of 29 shopping center businesses in mid-October. The new 950-square foot space at 12115 Blue Ridge Blvd, directly behind the shopping center, will mark the coffee company’s fifth Missouri location.
Dutch Bros Coffee started in 1992 as a pushcart by the railroad tracks in downtown Grants Pass, Oregon. With the help of family, friends, and loyal customers, Dutch Bros caught on and started to quickly grow. The expansion started in Oregon when the first franchise opened in 2000, then quickly spread across the northwest.
Kaite Henell has been with Dutch Bros for over nine years and will become regional operator for the Grandview location. Henell is already owner/regional operator of the Belton, Lee’s Summit and Raytown locations – making Grandview her fourth store.
“Location-wise, it’s right off the highway and there’s a lot of traffic on the side streets,” says Henell. “And a lot of regulars that frequent my Belton location are really excited about the Grandview one.”
Built from the ground up, Bear Construction Co. has taken on the project as it has with all the Dutch Bro store fronts in the Kansas City area.

“It’s gone up a lot quicker than they thought, which has been exciting,” says Henell.
Dutch Bros’ signature ordering process doesn’t include a lobby or a remote speaker box. Locations feature a walk-up window in addition to a drive-thru and Grandview will be no different. The new location will have a dedicated dual-lane drive-thru with staff taking orders directly at your car window.
“We have people outside to take orders,” says Henell. “That way we can make sure we get everything right. Something that’s frustrating when you go to a place that’s new, and you don’t know what to order is talking to someone through a metal box. By keeping it simple, we’re able to serve people more quickly and have more intentional conversations with them.”

The store will offer signature coffee drinks along with limited food options.
“Dutch Bros has been successful because of our relationship with our communities. It’s important for us to not only be there for our crews and create this environment where everyone feels welcome and everyone feels loved, but to create that for our customers that come through the line.”
Store hours will be Sunday through Thursday from 5am-10pm and Friday through Saturday, 5am-11pm. The Grandview location is currently hiring. To apply or for more information, visit dutchbros.com.
