The annual fall 5th & 6th Council District cleanups that are open to all KCMO residents will be from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays, Oct. 14 & 21.
The 5th District cleanup will be on the 14th with four drop off sites. The sites at Center Academy for Success, 8434 Paseo, and Ruskin High School, 7000 E. 111th St., will accept bulky items such as old furniture, leaves & brush, tires, trash and electronics. A shredding truck also will be available at both sites.
There are charges to drop off these electronics: CRT computer monitors ($5), LCD & plasma TVs ($20) and CRT, console & projection TVs $30.
The drop-off site at Southeast High School, 3500 E. Meyer Blvd., will accept bulky items, leaves & brush, tires and trash, and the site at 3001 E. 81st St. will accept bulky items, leaves & brush and trash.
The 6th District cleanup will be on the 21st with drop off sites at First Baptist Church of Kansas City, 100 W. Red Bridge Rd., at the northwest corner of Red Bridge & Wornall Rds. (Enter from Wornall Rd.) and at South Broadland Presbyterian Church, 7850 Holmes.
Both sites accept all the items accepted at Center Academy for Success and at Ruskin High School with the same charges for some electronics items. A shredder truck also will be available at both sites.
Hazardous materials including paint will not be accepted at any of the six drop-off sites.
