The Missouri Association of School Administrators (MASA) has announced the selection of Dr. Kenny Rodrequez, Superintendent of Grandview Consolidated School District #4 (Grandview C-4), as the 2024 Missouri Superintendent of the Year. Dr. Rodequez was honored during the MSBA/MASA Annual Fall Conference held November 4 at the Kansas City Convention Center.
MASA Executive Director, Dr. Doug Hayter, stated, “Kenny Rodrequez is not only an outstanding leader for the Grandview C-4 School District, but he is a dynamic and respected colleague in the Greater Kansas City area. Kenny can see the big picture of school leadership, but just as importantly, he knows how to access the details of how to get the most out of his staff and students.”
“I am so honored to have won this prestigious award on behalf of the amazing staff that we have in Grandview C-4,” Rodrequez stated. “Our team works to ensure the students have the best possible experience every day without exception. I consider it a privilege and honor to serve the Grandview C-4 community as a continual advocate for public education.
Dr. Rodrequez is in his seventh year as Superintendent of the Grandview C-4 School District. which serves a diverse community of approximately 3,700 students.
MASA appreciated Dr. Rodrequez’ efforts to enhance academic achievement by utilizing real-time student data, conducting root cause analysis, cultural competence, behavioral intervention support teams, developing a high-quality and inclusive curriculum as well as revising internal and external communications.
“My ongoing goal is to develop a high level of trust throughout the organization as well as throughout the Grandview community,” Rodrequez stated in his application. “I believe that while I have built trust throughout my tenure in Grandview, I must continue to stay connected to all levels of the greater Grandview community to ensure open and honest conversations can continue to occur. This will continue to aid me in navigating all controversial topics that come along.”
Dr. Rodrequez will be recognized during the American Association of School Administrators National Conference on Education in February 2024 for his state selection.
