KCPD reported that at 3 am, a red Honda SUV was traveling westbound on I-435,  too fast for weather conditions on the snow covered highway. Just east of 103rd Street, the Honda ran off the roadway to the right, traveling up and over the snowbank that was lining the north side of the highway. The Honda then vaulted off the bridge, falling approximately 100 feet and landing in the Blue River.

The driver and rear seat passenger of the Honda were both declared deceased at the scene. The front seat passenger of the Honda was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries and is currently in critical condition.

This is Fatalities #1 and #2 compared to #4 at this time last year and the investigation is ongoing.
Funeral services for Breanna and Alexis will be held Tuesday, January 17.
