Gerald Dunn will open Dunn Deal BBQ in the former Leuck’s Barbecue and General Store in Grandview.

Discovering a new restaurant offers a lot of fun during the summer months. Below is a list of restaurants that have opened or are expected to open in the next few months. 

 

Fresh Mojarras at Antojitos El Paradise, 11308 Blue Ridge Blvd.

Bannister/Hickman Mills

Antojitos El Paradise- Authentic Central American and Mexican food. 11308 Blue Ridge Blvd. Opened May 10.

Burger House – Burgers, fries, chicken nuggets.  8301 E. Bannister Rd. (James A. Reed & Bannister)

Whataburger – Burgers, fries, and shakes. Bannister Rd & I-435. Possible opening in 2024.

 

Pizza Tascio will open in Waldo in July in the former Classic Cookie location.

Waldo

Joy Wok Super Buffet – Chinese cuisine. 85th & Wornall Rd. Fall opening.

Hemma Hemma KC – Seasonal American cuisine. 7122 Wornall (former District Pour House + Kitchen). September opening.

Pizza Tascio – New York-style pizza. 409 W. Gregory (former Classic Cookie) Opening July 1.

City Barrel Brewing Pizza & Patio – Pizza and American cuisine. 120 E. Gregory Blvd. (former Bier Station). Fall opening. 

 

Piper Pizza will have a grand opening on June 22.

Ward Parkway

Nick the Greek – Greek street food. Ward Parkway Center. Early July opening.  

Peter Piper Pizza – Pizza. Ward Parkway Center. (former Hurtz Donut) Open in late June.

 

Smoked carnitas at Barbacoa KC, 5500 Troost.

Brookside

Meddys – Mediterranean cuisine. 6301 Brookside Plaza. (former Panera Bread). Late August opening. 

Barbacoa KC – Mexican barbecue. 5500 Troost. (former Urban Cafe) Opened late April. 

 

Exclusive Jerk Caribbean Restaurant has plans to open in Watt’s Mill.

103rd & State Line

Exclusive Jerk – Caribbean cuisine. 10229 State Line Rd. (former Panera Bread) Fall opening.

 

Red Bridge Shopping Center 

Berries + Honey – Charcuterie boards. Red Bridge Shopping Center (next to Caleb’s). Opening in September.

The Limit Pub & Grub – Bar food and pizza. 523 E Red Bridge. Opening early July.

Maple Bacon Cookie at Cookie Co.

Martin City

RC’s Chicken – Now serving breakfast on weekends under new owners. 330 E 135 St. 

Cookie Co. – Gourmet cookies. 13123 State Line Rd. (former Urban Grill & Poke) Fall opening.

Dos de Oros Taqueria – 13115 Holmes Rd. (former Martin City Coffee). Summer opening.

 

Paleteria El Charo plans to open around September.

Grandview

Dunn Deal BBQ – Texas/KC BBQ. 506 Main St. (former Leuks BBQ). August opening. 

Poncho’s – 24-hour Mexican. 5805 Main St. (former Captain D’s). 

The Real Grill – Sandwich deli. 1350 Main St. (new bldg next to Holt’s Donuts). Fall opening. 

Dutch Bros. – Coffee drive-thru. 12115 Blue Ridge Blvd (new bldg next to Hardee’s) Fall opening

The Tupelo Catfish Co. – Southern cuisine. 12130 Blue Ridge Blvd. (former Peking Express) Opening unknown. 

Paleteria El Charo – Mexican food and ice cream. 11902 Blue Ridge Blvd (former Health & Wellness Clinic KC) Fall opening.

 

Jersey Mike’s Subs opened in May in Belton.

Belton

InRoll Bistro – American cuisine. 501 Main St. Opened April 25.

Jersey Mike’s – Deli. 906 E. North Ave. Opened May 17. 

Scooters – Coffee. 211 E North Ave.  July opening.  

The Other Place – Sports bar and pizzeria. 311 N. Cedar St. Fall opening. 

B’s Bagels & Bialys – Bagels. 100 Main Street suite C. Opening undetermined
