Rey de Oros Taqueria has opened in Martin City in the former Martin City Coffee space at 13115 Holmes Road. The owners plan to hold a formal grand opening ceremony on April 7.
Formerly the Dos de Oros Taqueria, Rey de Oros was relocated from its former location, just around the corner on Blue Ridge, and rebranded at its new location. Prior to the relocation, the owners of the taqueria made some changes to the former coffee shop, enclosing the front patio area to add more indoor seating and adding more refrigerated storage space in the former sunroom. The indoor space now seats 90 diners and there are plans to add additional outdoor patio seating in the future.
The most significant change to the taqueria’s operations is the utilization of the drive through window at the new location which will allow for business beyond what the indoor dining space can provide. Dine in customers purchase their selections at the counter and servers bring their orders to their table.
Rey de Oros offers an extensive menu, including street tacos, burritos, tostadas, quesadillas, tortas and sopes. They offer eleven different meat options, including chicken, beef, pork, and seafood, with vegetarian options also available. A self-serve topping bar also offers diners many different options for customizing their meal. The taqueria continues to provide a wide range of dessert options, including a large selection of flavors of ice cream made on site. They plan to begin serving alcohol at the taqueria soon.
Rey de Oros is open seven days a week from 9am to 10pm.
