Sleep and Parkinson’s
The physical symptoms of Parkinson’s disease can often prevent those who live with the condition from getting a good night’s sleep and adequate rest. The restorative effects of sleep can improve health and help those with Parkinson’s disease better manage the disease on a daily basis.
The Parkinson’s Foundation will be presenting “Parkinson’s, Sleep and Me” on September 19 at the KU Edwards Campus, 12604 Quivira Rd. in Overland Park, KS.
The program, which begins at 5 pm, will feature speakers Vibhash Sharma, MD, University of Kansas Medical Center; Kelsey Sewell, PhD, University of Kansas Medical Center, and Liz Zayat, MS OTR/L, Rockhurt University. The program provides information on how Parkinson’s disease affects sleep, and ways you can get a better night’s sleep while living with the disease. People with Parkinson’s, their family, care partners, and anyone serving the Parkinson’s community are welcome to attend.
