Mobile food pantries in the area
Persons in need may pick up free fresh produce and other healthy food items supplied by Harvesters, the community food network, at two mobile food panties in south Kansas City this month.
The first event will be at Martin City K-8 School, 201 E. 133rd St., from noon to 1:30 p.m. (or earlier if food runs out) Saturday, October 19, and vehicles may begin lining up at 11 a.m. The event is sponsored by Three Trails Community church.
The second event will be at Ruskin High School, 7000 E. 111th St., from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, October 24, and vehicles should line up on Ruskin Way on the east side of the school. The event is sponsored by the school and the Community Assistance Council.
