The Trip to Bountiful
Belton’s Main Street Theater, 510 Main Street, presents the touching story about an elderly woman’s journey to return home one last time before she passes. The Trip to Bountiful opens Friday, June 3 and runs through June 19. The play was made into an award-winning movie in 1985. Admission is $17 for adults, $15 for seniors (65+), youth and students. Heathers: The Musical
The Arts Asylum, 824 E Meyer Blvd, concluded their season with Heathers: The Musical on June 15-25. The play is produced by Faust Theatre. The musical is based on the cult classic 1989 film and tells of a misfit young woman who wants to be part of the Heathers, a popular yet cruel clique of girls. When her dreams of popularity come true, she is reminded that it might kill to be a nobody, but it is murder to be a somebody. Tickets run $20 at lickitupbaby.eventbrite.com and at the door.
The Addams Family Musical
The Leawood Stage Company will be featuring The Addam’s Family Musical at Ironwood’s Park, 14701 Mission Rd., July 14-17 and 21-28 at 8pm. The musical is based off of the popular 1960s sitcom that depicted a ghoulish American family with an affinity for all things macabre.
