Pinnacle Winds, Kansas City’s professional-level concert band, will present a free public concert to kick off its fourth season at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 18, in the sanctuary of St. Peter & All Saints Episcopal Church, 100 E. Red Bridge Rd.
The concert titled “Love is in the Wind” will feature nationally recognized conductor Dr. Leslie W. Hicken as the guest conductor. He is the former director of bands at Furman University and Youngstown State University and a former clarinetist in the U.S. Army Band at West Point.
Hicken will share conducting with Dr. John Carmichael, Pinnacle Winds conductor.
Compositions to be presented will include A Boy’s Dream by Jay Bocook, Candide Suite by Leonard Bernstein, Love Songs by Scott McAlister and Scenes from the Louvre by Norman Dello Jolo.
Donations to Pinnacle Winds will be accepted at the door.
