The Waldo Area Business Association is celebrating leap year by kicking off its 9th Annual Waldo Week on February 29. Mike’s Wine & Spirits is sponsoring the February 29th event from 5 – 8 pm and will be providing an open bar. The band Rumble Ghost will perform from 6:30 – 7:30 pm.

Throughout the week, donations will be collected to support The Children’s Place. The Children’s Place is a non-profit trauma treatment center for young children located in the Waldo area. Monetary donations can be made by mentioning Waldo at www.childrensplacekc.org/donate. The Children’s Place is also seeking items for our food pantry – canned meat and pasta, fruit snacks, granola bars, small boxes of cereal, oatmeal, juice boxes, etc. Please no glass jars or peanut products.

Waldo Week was created as a way to showcase the diverse restaurants, retail, unique services, and entertainment experiences offered in the neighborhood and offer the community the chance to support a local non-profit organization.
