Walmart Super Center expands services to include health center

The 5,750 sq. ft. health care center being built on the north end will offer a full suite of health services.

The Walmart Super Center at 1701 W 133rd St is currently being remodeled and expanded to create a better shopping experience for Walmart customers, according to Walmart spokesperson Merisa Ashbaugh. Renovations began last month. An extension is currently being built onto the north side of the building.

When the newly remodeled Walmart has its grand opening on May 17, it will have:

  • New signage, fixtures and LED lighting throughout the entire store for better line of sight and easier navigation.
  • Refreshed exterior, including paint and signage.
  • Remodeled bathrooms and addition of a mother’s room.
  • Front-end transformation with new self-checkouts.
  • Expanded grocery pickup and delivery.
  • A new community inspired mural.
  • A new health center.

The 5,750 sq ft health care center being built on the north end will offer a full suite of health services. These services include primary care, labs, X-ray and EKG, behavioral health, dental, hearing, select specialty services, community health, and telehealth.

A sign at the entryway reminds shoppers of a May 17 grand reopening.

The store continues to be open during regular business hours and some renovations will be conducted at night, after closing.

This store remodel is one of 650 happening across 47 states and Puerto Rico this year.
