Luther Mazda has recently completed a $2.5 million renovation of their dealership facility at 13900 Washington in Martin City. Luther Automotive Group purchased the Premier Mazda dealership at that location in 2022 and has spent more than a year renovating nearly the entire facility.
Derek Goshien, general manager, explained that they “remodeled every part of the dealership except the shop. We added salespersons desks so that we can have more product specialists to meet our guests needs more efficiently, we added more seating in service areas for our guests to wait more comfortability, and we added more space in the parts department so that we can carry more parts inventory to have more parts readily available. We are repairing and repaving the entire parking lot in the coming months as well.”
During the remodel, the dealership’s sales and service staff worked out of trailers at the site, but the cramped quarters didn’t impact their sales during that period. “We had a couple of our best months during that time,” Goshien said, “We have more than tripled our total sales since purchasing the stores and have increased our service business by 40+%.”
Headquartered in Minnesota, the Luther Automotive Group was founded in 1952 and has more than twenty locations, including a Mazda dealership in Lee’s Summit, selling a wide variety of new and used vehicles made by nearly 30 different manufacturers. The south Kansas City location employs 40 employees.
