Raytown Road has been closed between Highgrove and Harry Truman Drive since June 27th.

Grandview to reopen Raytown Road on Tuesday

Grandview is celebrating the end of its Raytown Road project by cutting the “Caution” tape over new twin bridges on Tuesday, September 17 th at 5 pm. Raytown Road is scheduled to reopen to traffic immediately after the event.

Construction started just after Memorial Day with crews working on the bridge for the northbound lanes while traffic drove in the southbound lanes. However, a powerful June storm further compromised the structures below the open lanes, making it unsafe for traffic and forcing the complete closure of Raytown Road between Highgrove and Harry Truman Drive on June 27th.

The $3.2M project finished early and under budget. In addition to the new, twin bridges on Raytown Road the project also includes a new pedestrian bridge along the nearby Longview Trail to Longview Lake.
