Nominations for awards for individuals, organizations and businesses that have provided significant help to improve the south Kansas City area that will be presented at an October 19 community awards breakfast are being accepted through September 20 by the South Kansas City Alliance on its website www.SouthKCAlliance.org.
Awards for individuals include awards for lifetime service to the community, outstanding government service, outstanding public safety service, being a good neighbor by improving the nominee’s neighborhood and being an outstanding young achiever.
Awards for organizations include the outstanding neighborhood organization award and the outstanding educational achievement program award. The award for businesses is the good corporate citizenship award.
Businesses, individuals and organizations are all eligible for the outstanding community service award.
Tickets for the awards breakfast at More Hall at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11822 Holmes Rd., are $20 for the full hot breakfast buffet or $150 for tables of 8 and also can be ordered on the SKCA website.
